Insurance questions
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Usually not. Under direct access in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, you can start physical therapy without a physician referral. Some insurance plans still require one, and some surgical cases need clearance from your surgeon. We’ll tell you exactly what your plan needs when we check your benefits.
How do I know if my plan is covered?
Send us your insurance information when you book, or call your clinic. We verify your benefits for free before your first visit and explain what you’ll owe.
What if I have a Medicare Advantage plan?
We’re in-network with Medicare Advantage plans from UnitedHealthcare (including AARP), Aetna, Clover Health and Braven Health. Some plans require an authorization before treatment. We request it for you.
What if my plan isn’t on the list?
Ask us. We work with many more plans than we can list here, and we’ll check yours for free. If you’re out-of-network, we’ll explain your out-of-network benefits and our affordable self-pay options.
I was hurt at work or in a car accident. Can I come to Trinity?
Yes. We treat workers’ compensation and auto accident (no-fault / PIP) cases. Bring your claim number and adjuster information if you have them, and we’ll handle the rest.
